Chris joins TTR | Sotheby's International Realty as a Co-founder of the THRIVE Team after spending the last three years servicing a variety of buyer and seller clients, selling approximately $20 million between 2013-2015. 

He is well regarded by his developer clients who depend on his skills for locating off-market development opportunities, selling new construction, and consistently delivering new buyers and running 1st time home-buyer workshops.

He is exceptionally knowledgeable in the minutia of Washington, D.C's Tenant Opportunity to Purchase Act (TOPA) and excels at navigating the complicated process of buying and selling multi-unit rental buildings in D.C. Chris is passionate about real estate and enjoys showing his clients his favorite neighborhoods, properties and hangouts around the region.

Born in Washington, D.C. and raised in Silver Spring, Maryland, Chris offers a local’s perspective and deep knowledge of the neighborhoods and suburbs surrounding the city. Chris has been a resident of Columbia Heights for ten years and owns a Wardman row home off of 14th street.

Mr. Burns is a cum-laude graduate of Colgate University and is a renown alumni of the institution's India Study Group, a unique international experience that inspired him to establish Colgate's first collegiate cricket club.   Through his effort with the cricket club, Chris successfully raised the funds to construct a wicket in 2005 and the club is still active today. Upon graduating, Chris spent a year writing about his experiences and training with professional cricketers at the MIG Cricket Club in Mumbai, India. He also ran track while at Colgate.

Prior to his real estate career, Chris was a well known DJ in the Washington DC area and has played accomplished sets at almost all of Washington's major nightclubs, including  the 9:30 Club, U Street Music Hall, Black Cat, Flash, Lost Society, Public Bar, the Rock and Roll Hotel and many more. If you're lucky, you can sometimes still find him in the DJ booth for the occasional gig.

Staying true to his musical roots, Chris is the founding organizer of the Petwork Park Summer Jam, a newly established summer event that exposes DC's best electronic music makers and DJs to community members of all ages.

In his free time, Chris currently enjoys producing music in his studio and has released projects with a variety of local, national and international record labels (http://chrisburnsdc.com).
