The Washington DC area's Multiple Listing Service, MRIS (which is not owned by Bright MLS) recently crunched all of the Q1 2017 data and reported some very interesting observations.  Cash, competition, and no contingencies are fairly common and multiple offers are the norm in many popular neighborhoods.
